LARN 016 C4D4 Start the following in class: 1.  Find out what a Frayer word map is and looks like by clicking on https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9ft9hAr_RjiMm8xUWljMU0tWjQ .  Then construct a Frayer word map for the word "substance".  Also construct another Frayer chart for each of these terms: compound, mixture, element, and suspension. 2. Write your journal entry on sheets of three holed 8.5 inch by 11 inch ruled paper in your Journal Log book. The required focus question, J16, for today is :     What are the relationships among the terms substance, formula unit, element, and compound?  To clearly distinguish each of the four terms from one another, construct four paragraphs, one for each term. For suggestions on how to construct such paragraphs, see the supplementary information at the bottom of this web page. Recommended for those who have time left in their 45 minute study period, but not required of all: 1.  Read and reflect on the handout entitled Lesson - the Scientific Method. The handout is at https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9ft9hAr_RjiMU01cXlHcWM4aE0...
