LARN 017 C5D1

Start the following in class:

1.  Follow the procedure explained in the document at the link entitled “How to Do a Visionlearning Assignment” for the module on “Properties of Solids“.

2. Follow the procedure explained in the document at the link entitled “How to Do a Visionlearning Assignment” for the module on “The Process of Science“.*

* NOTE: When the Visionlearning web site such as with the module on “The Process of Science” shows an error when you click on the tab for a quiz, a self-assessment quiz has not been posted for the module!  In that case, there is no requirement to complete an online quiz formative assessment for the module as part of the assignment.

Recommended for those who have time left in their 45 minute study period, but not required of all:

1. If you have not already done so, finish word processing your first laboratory report.  When you are finished print off a copy to bring to class and upload an electronic copy into the Student Resources > S0X_HonorsChemistry > S0X_Honors_Chemistry_LastnameF folder [where 0 is a zero, X stands for your Honors Chemistry Section Number, and LastnameF is your Lastname concatenated with the First letter of your first name] that you create on your school district Google drive.  Share the folder with edit privileges for your chemistry teacher.

2. In your Learning Log, learn about the gaseous, liquid, and solid states of matter by viewing the video “A Matter of State” and taking Cornell notes on it.

3. Do the Home Inquiry Activity entitled Classifying Matter that is described on page 38 of your text. Before you start you should gather up all the materials needed for the activity that are listed on page 38 under the heading of Materials.  After you have finished the activity, in your Laboratory Notebook use the Home Inquiry response sheet format to record your responses to the four questions asked on text page 38 about the activity that you performed.
