- If you have a smartphone, go to the ken-a-vision.com site and download and install the EduCam Classroom Viewer app.
Do the following at home so you can understand safe laboratory procedures:
1. Read over the “MNSD Rules of Laboratory Conduct” and make a note of anything you would like to ask about in class tomorrow. Do likewise with the “MNSD Safety Guidelines” and then sign and date that document along with your parent or guardian. Then please both of you sign and date two (2) copies of the “MNSD Safety Guidelines Agreement Signature Page.”
2. Read the handout on Laboratory Safety Precautions for understanding so that you may understand how each safe practice contributes to the overall safety of our laboratory learning environment. Most people follow safe practices well only when they understand how the special precautions contribute to making us safer, and so we must focus on understanding these practices if we are to keep our laboratory environment safe!
1. Read the “Introduction to Laboratory Safety” document.
2. Set up a separate page of note paper with your first and last names in the upper right white space at the top of the lined paper.
3.Obtain two (2) copies of the Flinn Safety Contract.
4. In full sentences answer the questions asked on the “Introduction to Laboratory Safety” document

5. Please fill in #56, #57, #58 on both copies.
6. Rewrite item #28 after the word immediately so that the sentence ends as follows: ” and walk over to your teacher and inform him of the situation”.
6. Circle the number of any item that you do not fully understand, and get the matter clarified before you turn in one of the signed copies of the safety contract.
7. Please read over and discuss the Flinn Safety Contract with your parents/guardians.
8. After you and your parents understand what you must do to remain safe, both you and your parent(s)/guardian(s) should sign and date both copies in the spaces provided and, bring both copies back to our next class.
9. Add your hand in number to the top right of the reverse side of the document (the signature side), and turn in one copy to your teacher.
10. Please save the other copy of the safety contract in the laboratory section of your 3 ring binder for future reference before and during laboratory activities , as needed.
