Study for the summative assessment on chapter 3 that is to be given on your next school day that our class meets.  Today is day 31.  Study for your test which is scheduled for school day 32!  If your class does not meet on day 32, today’s home learning activities are listed under day 32 and on day 32 your home learning activities are those listed below.

Start the following in class:

1. Review and study the Cornell notes and/or Study Guides that you took in and out of class, together with your journal reflections and informational handouts.

  • Also review anything that you previously corrected on
    • the Chapter 3 Section Reviews,
    • the Chapter 3 Scientific Measurement [Formative] Test A
    • and any other assignments or problem sets that you have checked using green ink.

2. Log onto Google Classroom and follow the instructions for LARN 031 C8D3 on Review Problem Solving Using Unit Conversion Ratios.

3. As part of your review for your chapter 3 assessment, read over the learning  objectives written for chapter 3 and study with the aim of being able to demonstrate your understanding and ability to apply the learnings.  Open the Unit Learning Objectives for Cornell Notes document, Press and hold the CTRL key while typing F to bring up a search (find) box.  Type in Chapter 3 in the search box and then move your cursor into the text area to the right and click there to see the first page of objectives.  Study and take study notes as seems appropriate.

Recommended for those who have time left in their 45 minute study period, but not required of all:

1.  Study the method of solving many chemistry problems explained in the online version of the document entitled Unit Analysis Strategy .  Then 0n a separate page in your Learning Log use the method explained in class to do the eight text book practice problems listed on the last page of the document, but not the two formative assessment problems. If you find you need more help than your class notes and the step by step description in the document, you can access an alternate step by step presentation of the method in the document entitled Unit Analysis Step by Step Guidance .
